  3. Use a pencil to make a hole in the top section.
  4. (that is for the string or ribbon later)

  6. Write your name and date with permanent marker on the back.
  7. Add a string or ribbon.
  8. Wear the necklace or hang on doorknob.

HANDY TIPS

Many young children will want to make two pieces and stick them together, rather than cut out one solid shape. This can work fine, but the pieces will probably come apart from each other, so you might need some glue, once the pieces are dry. This project is very adaptable. You can use small crosses for necklaces, or larger ones for a doorknob decoration. You can also decorate the crosses by sticking beads or small shells onto them, or just leave plain. Have several colors of dough available, so everyone can choose their own.
